I know, most people just sort of joke that the legacy media works hand in hand with the government, well, we have a story that suggests that yes, at least one person was a “journalist” who was giving info directly to the FBI.
A once-classified FBI memo reveals that the bureau treated a senior ABC News journalist as a potential confidential informant in the 1990s
Oh and this alleged journalist was really deep with the FBI.
The ABC employee was even assigned a number in the FBI’s informant database, indicating he or she was still being vetted for suitability as a snitch after providing “highly accurate and reliable information in the past”
In other words, they were so good at giving up the goods to the feds, the feds gave them the alleged journalist their own secret government id number. I’m sure they were thrilled at that.
And of course, then there’s the geniuses at ABC.
ABC News told the Center for Public Integrity that it is not certain about the identity of the journalist involved in the 1995-96 episode, but does not believe he or she still works for the network.
How can you be sure they do not work for the network if you do not know the identity?
Alternatively, you know who it is, but you don’t want to say anything. So either you’re lying through your teeth or a clueless and incompetent. I don’t call you guys legacy media for nothing you know.
ABC network Spokesman Jeffrey Schneider…“It can create a perception of collusion between the government and the news organization. It would put journalists everywhere at risk if people believed that journalists are acting as government agents.
Ha. Ha ha. Ha ha ha ha. Do you really think anyone believes the legacy media of 2011 is in anything other than collusion with the government? I could go over story after story and show it, but I’m bored of that. It’s beyond proof that you guys are basically a wholly owned subsidiary.
There’s more of the account at the story if you really want to read it, but, it doesn’t really say anything new. Goes on and on about supposed journalistic ethics and how its bad for the image of journalists and blah blah blah.
Oh and since this happened in the Clinton presidency, I’m sure we’ll all hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth over the abuses of the government and how it’s running roughshod over the First Amendment. Yeah I know, I also want a unicorn for my birthday.
